Yennai Arindhaal Teaser Review

The teaser runs for a pulsating 59 seconds. Ajith in first person narrative voices over that a very thin line separates good and evil and how a defining moment pushed him to the bad side. Ajith is impressive in both the getups - the younger black hairdo look and  the other with salt and pepper look. Interestingly, Ajith is shown in every single frame while the two leading ladies, Trisha and Anushka, appear for just a frame each in the teaser. 

Gautham Menon, who always fancies himself to have English dialogues in his films, has not used a single English word in the teaser. Gautham Menon tweeted two years ago that he is interested in remaking Sathya. The rugged look of Ajith in the salt and pepper getup and also the 'Kaapu' around his hand remind us of Kamal Haasan from Sathya.  Although Yennai Arindhaal is not expected to be a direct remake of Kamal's Sathya. The lead character and broader concept is expected to be inspired by Sathya.

Harris Jayaraj, who is back with Gautham Menon after 6 years, comes up with heart-pounding techno music fitting the style of the teaser. The teaser is slick -- aesthetically shot by Dan Macarthur and sharply edited by Anthony.


Let's hope Gautham keeps up his impressive track record of not going wrong with a cop story. Yennai Arindhaal teaser shows positive signs of Gautham Menon regaining his midas touch with the help of Ajith.
