Director Ranjith's Mellisai has Vijay Sethupathi essaying the role of a musician. We hear that the actor took piano lessons for a month for his role. Unit hands say that the actor, who sports a stylish look for the first time, learnt to play the instrument despite being busy and continuously shooting for five movies at the same time.
Ranjith says, "He (Vijay Sethupathi) plays the role of a musician who works on albums. He learnt to play the piano from an expert."
He adds, "Gayathrie, who plays the female lead, learnt to play the violin for her role as a music teacher. Vijay and Gayathrie play a couple and the story revolves around a mystery surrounding them."
